Belize New Management

Here’s an idea I’ve been toying around with for a while, thought I’d share it with you to get your feedback and ideas on how we can make Belize better.

Belize New Management
  • National Board will managed the daily on-goings in the nation. They will be elected by the people in a national election that will be every 5 years.
  • District Reps will be elected by the people in a district wide elections once every 4 years.
  • Local Governments will be responsible to work with the people on the ground to come up with plans and solutions to issues affecting the populace and present them to the District Reps. There may even be room for smaller bodies like Councils to make it even more involved with the people. These bodies will be elected by the people in an election every 3 years.
  • Review Board to consist of Accountants and Attorneys along with advisors in different fields that will review all transactions both incoming and outgoing to ensure they are not only feasible but legal and within appropriate coding guidelines.

This is just a quick outline, we can grow from here. Leave your comments below.

Belize Age of Consent

The Age of Consent in Belize is 16 years old. The age of consent is the minimum age at which an individual is considered legally old enough to consent to participation in sexual activity. Individuals aged 15 or younger in Belize are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape or the equivalent local law. Belize statutory rape law is violated when an individual has consensual sexual intercourse with a person under age 16.

Belize does not have a close-in-age exemption. Close in age exemptions, commonly known as “Romeo and Juliet laws” in the United States, are put in place to prevent the prosecution of individuals who engage in consensual sexual activity when both participants are significantly close in age to each other, and one or both partners are below the age of consent. The promises of a better future …

So I’ve been reading the manifestos for both the PUP and UDP parties and have some items I want to cover, hopefully I can get to it all before election day… Continue reading “The promises of a better future …”

The Alternative struggle in Belize

I talk to Belizeans on the ground every day and the one thing that is certain in all the discussions is that they want a serious Alternative, not a bunch of individual units working together under a common idea. Belizeans see that as a larger more spread out version of the two party system. Currently we have PUP and UDP fighting for power, if the Alternatives win, it will be a larger struggle for power..

The lesser of two evils is still evil. And we keep doing the same insane thing of voting in evil every 5 years.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Thought of the Day

I haven’t done this in a while but here is my TOD for today June 25, 2015
The problem is that we allowed our Colonial masters to instill in us that one race is superior to another and one group is to rule others and that certain “classes” of people are inferior and should be put to death even.

We have allowed ourselves to be led into the construct where we are classified like farm animals…

The system works on a divide and conquer method and we do all the work by being racists and bigots.

Until we learn that the construct of classifications is our enemy and we learn to break free and unite as one people regardless of color or orientation or any of the dividers they place between us we will remain where we are and things will only get worst.

Society is fucked … Why?

Society is fucked … Why?

We fear what others says we should be, what we should say and all that. We put the opinions of others before our own and as such we stop doing what needs to be done. We worry …

  • What will my priest think?
  • What will my mom/dad say?
  • What will my friends say?
  • What will Joe Blow say?

When norms are set, we become like animals in a herd and we get divided into different aspects, we are used to play against each other at war with ourselves.

The way we have been controlled is that they set things up to play with our thoughts and emotions. They use our human traits against us, 1000’s of years of manipulation has now taken its toll and we are living under the herd mentality.

Think of a sheep farm. Sheep are in the pasture eating and roaming. The farmer shows up and one or two sheep start walking away because they have been conditioned to lead the flock to where the farmer wants them to. All of a sudden you start seeing the other sheep following and the few that don’t blindly follow are scared into line by the sheep dog.Noting to Loose but Chains

In our lives, many of us have become the sheep dog, we rush at and attack the sheep that do not follow into submission. We are fighting ourselves, do you realize that? Who’s vision is the norm of what is right, what is beautiful, etc? Continue reading “Society is fucked … Why?”

Thought of the day 05-13-13

The system really has not served us except for the very beginning extending a bit into a decade or so after Independence. If we look around at how our nation has been served we can clearly see that only politicians, their families, friends and special interest groups have really been served.

When a system is created where only the rich or land owners could participate when only a handful of people fit into that bracket and having that continue until today I say it is a failed system from the onset, but that’s just me.

Are we to blame? Somewhat, actually for the most part. But it starts from our forefathers. If they had really taken the time to realize that what they were fighting against should never have made it into our foundation we would not be here today. People grew up with that system as being normal and it has become a cycle. You cannot make change unless you have money and we see that play out in how people behave.

I think this problem spans a wider footing than just politics tho, however I believe that if we look at any issue in Belize close enough we realize that they are political.
One of the main reasons things are the way they are is that people did not get the opportunity to lean their Constitution or their rights as citizens of Belize and still don’t.

Today we have learned people going round throwing legal jargon on radio, tv, in person and expect that people will understand. They literally use it as a tool to work the people to their liking.

Tho people are to blame for how they vote and how they think, this is the result of years of failure of the system to raise people that can think for themselves. The issue in my mind is this..

We have allowed ourselves to be raised an Ignorant, Complacent, Conforming, Submissive and Hypocritical people.
Yes I did.

The question now is: How do we change when the majority don’t even know their rights?

Until we realize that, accept it and do something to change it. Nothing will. And no-one can do it for you, YOU have to make the choice to do it for you.
